They say....

The idea for this card came from one of Shelli's convention projects.  She used completely different framelits etc, but I liked the idea of there being 3 sides to the card, so I sat down with my 'From the Heart' stampset, my label framelits, my new lacy brocade embossing folder and my Parlor Prints background stamp...oh and some markers too...

This sentiment is one of my favourites from the stamp set I used, it reads:  "they say 'this too will pass'...they just never say WHEN"  Sometimes I really wonder who "they' are anyway?!;)

Teen Stamp Camp - Hello Kitty Preview Project

This is a preview of just one of the projects I'm planning for my Teen Stamp Camp later this month for my daughter and her friends before they have to go back to school.  I used the petite pocket die to create the Hello Kitty base and then we'll be making 2 bookmarks using the Broadsheet Alphabet stamp set and  the Occasions Alphabet stamp set.  Hopefully the girls will have a great time.

I have one other project, a journal, designed and then still need to finish the others, but I'm having fun getting this all ready:))

1st Christmas Card of 2012

Now really I don't start crafting Christmas this early usually, but when I got my order from the new Holiday catalog, I couldn't resist playing a little bitt.  My favourite thing on this card is the lacy brocade embossing folder I used on the early espresso core-dinations pice (along with the coordinating sanding system!).  I also love the Holiday Prints dsp Stack, the ornament keepsake stamps and greetings for the season stamps:)

Ornament Keepsake

This is my version of the ornament on the cover of the Holiday Catalog which was released October 1.  I loved it so much I had to sit down and figure out how to make it right away:)  The ornament is made out of 40 stamped images from the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set and then cut out with the coordinating Holiday Ornaments framelits dies (20 each of 2 different images).  I stamped the ornament images in cherry cobbler and gumball green ink.  I've also used some of the new cherry cobbler scalloped tulle ribbon, a vintage faceted button and a large pearl jewel.  The rosette in the centre was made using a sheet from the Festival of Prints DSP Pack.  I did a few things differently than the one pictured on the Holiday Catalog and I have a few ideas for other ornaments I plan to make as we move into fall.  This particular ornament is quite large, a little bigger than 6 inches in diameter:)

I know it seems early to be crafting for Christmas, but I couldn't resist with the new Holiday Catalog and I just needed to figure out how to do this:))

If there is enough interest I will consider presenting the Ornament Keepsake as a class (with maybe a few other ornaments:)  I will offer a bit of a deal on the class to those who order the Ornament Keepsakes Bundle as then they can home and make more of their own and this would also be helpful to the class because if we are call stamping and die cutting 40 ornaments with just my big shot and bundle, it might be a very longggggg night;)  Be sure to contact me if you are interested:))

Stamp a Stack - Trust God

Tonight was my Stamp a Stack using the 'Trust God' stamp set.  We also used the new Orchard Harvest dsp in the Holiday Catalog and the Mixed Bunch flower stamp set and coordinating punch. It was a fun night of stamping, visiting with friends and even meeting a new one:)  Each person was able to choose to make 2 or 3 of each of the 4 cards in the set and everyone did a fabulous job!  The evening just flew by!  Here's a quick  picture of each of the cards we made:)

Enjoying Life - From the Heart

Today's card was made with the From the Heart stamp set and the coordinating Apothecary Accents framlits (and a labels framelit in raspberry behind it).  The card base is primrose petals and was embossed using the tulip frame folder.

Masculine Cards - From My Heart

I set out to make a couple of masculine thank you cards a couple of weeks ago because I don't have any in my stock.  Oh it's hard for me to make masculine...I always think the finish product could use some more bling and embellishment.

On these I purposely went for a vintage fell.  I used stamps from the From My Heart set and dsp from the Fan Fair collection.  they still feel a bit plain for me, but they do look a little better in person and my husband ensures me that they don't need more embellishment;)

British - Keep Calm & Carry On

Today's project is in honour of the opening ceremonies to the London Olympics...hence the wink & nudge to the British flag I created in the background to this project.  This project was created with midnight muse, very vanilla and raspberry ripple card stock.

Also, I'm very pleased to announce that the 'Carry On' hostess set is available again!!  And all you have to do to get yours for FREE is to hostess a workshop or participate in a stamp club (then you can choose it as a free item the month your get the hostess benefit)!  There is one spot still open for my fall stamp club which is starting in September, so if you are in the Saskatoon area and interested in joining, be sure to contact me!  Or if you want to start a stamp club of your own with your friends, I'd be happy to help you out:)

More Affection...Love Always

Another project I made with the new 'Affection Collection' stamp set from the up coming Holiday Catalog.  I made this little flag using baja breeze, early espresso and very vanilla cardstock.  The scalloped edge was done with the edgelets.  The ribbons are raspberry ripple stitched satin and victoria lace, and I added a few rhinestone jewels to finish it off!:)

Affection Collection! (Sneak Peek...shhhhh!)

My very favourite new stamp set coming out in the Holiday Catalog with starts on August 1 is the Affection Collection, and here's a sneak peek!

I got playing on the weekend with no one in particular in mind...I just made what I would like.  This stamp set suits my natural style well.  I love vintage, I love pretty, I love romantic...and it fits all of that!  And I used one other new item from the Holiday catalog on this card...I embossed the raspberry ripple card base with the new *lacy brocade embossing folder...and you should just see the detail in person!

If you don't already have your copy of the Holiday catalog and would like one, be sure to contact me!  It goes live August 1st!

Keep Calm & CREATE!

I have good news!!  It was announced at Stampin' Up's convention last week that the *Carry On hostess stamp set will be available again very soon!!

So in honour of that, and with some inspiration from Shelli Gardner herself, I made this bookmark!  "Keep Calm", comes from the hostess set mentioned above and "CREATE" comes from the Layered Labels stamp set which I used with the coordinating apothecary accents framelits and my big shot. The dsp used comes from the neutrals specialty pack and the cardstock used is raspberry ripple, very vanilla and baja breeze (oh, and the bottom raspberry ripple piece was stamped with Viola's Lace builder wheel:)

More Reasons to Smile (*Hurry, offer ends July 31, 2012)

As July winds down I thought I'd remind you once more of the July 'Reason to Smile" promotion.  During July when you place a $60 Stampin Up order, in person, at a workshop or online you will be elgible to purchase the Reason to Smile stampset (clear mount or wood mount) for only $5.  I used the Reason to Smile stamp set to stamp the flowers in both of the cards above.  The base of the cards are both gumball green...I'm trying to make myself use green more as I'm not naturally drawn to any greens, but I think this particular shade will become a fast favourite of mine when we move into the Christmas season this year.... Speaking of which, the Holiday catalog comes out on August 1...be sure to contact me if you would like a copy!:)

Simple Box made with Simply Scored

This is just a simple box I made a couple of weeks ago for a card and small gift I had made for a friend.  When my cards have too much dimension for an envelope or I made an odd shaped gift  love to just make my own box to fit them...this box is fairly shallow at only 3/4" for example.

AND Connie Stewart showed me how to make a shim for my simply scored from Stampin Up that makes box making even easier...because once you have your shim all you have to do to make your top to your box is the exact things you did with your bottom but insert your shim on your simply scored and Voila!:)

I thought I would also post a link to Connie's you tube video showing how to make the simply scored box making shim in case any of you were interested.

As for decorating this box...again I used the builder wheels from page 108 of the new catalog (violas lace is probably my favourite:)  I used Papillon Potpouri and the butterfly punch for the butterflies.  I used the tag punches for the tag and I stamped it with an image from Trust God.  The bow is just a simple paper bow using some card stock...easy peasy:)
