Purse Box
The set of cards I've been posting this week are meant to fill this purse box. I got the inspiration from Papercrafts this month and I also saw a similar box on Angie's site...

...another one in the set...
Another sentiment that I don't own, but I didn't buy the stampset because I didn't think I would use it more than a couple of times. Also, I've borrowed that eyelet edge punch I've used here...not sure whether I should buy it or not...thankfully a friend is letting me play with hers while I make up my mind:)

Quick Birthday Card
Just a quick birthday card today for a sweet friend of my daughter's!
Note that the tag and the letter 'b' were cutout with the big shot and the tag was embossed with a texture plate, but I learned a new trick... you spray it with alcohol before you run it through for a deeper impression (thanks Caren for sharing the rubbing alcohol with me and for loaning me your punch!)
We've had beautiful weather this weekend, so not much time for crafting so far...I've been out riding my bike and getting the yard ready:)

For a 'fabulous friend'
r
I get to have girl-time with my fabulous friend Caroline tonight... That deserves a treat, don't you think?!
I just received my SU order from last month's club, and, as you can see, I ordered the matchbox die for my Big Shot... but I did not order the extended pads...and as you can see it works just fine. I thought this would be worth trying because I doubt I would ever cut all parts from the same sheet of paper:)

Stationary Set - Happy Mother's Day!
There are gifts and then there are gifts... One of my gifts this mother's day was a couple of mornings to craft (both Saturday and Sunday from 8 - 10 am:)...I even got an extra hour in after supper on Saturday while my husband and daughter cleaned up:)
This is the project I finished mother's day morning. Becky has some wonderful directions on her website! Thanks Becky for the inspiration!

Mini Book
This mini book is ala Jenn's tutorial (in word and in video). I did change up two things... the instructions say there are 5 pages in the book, but I found that the spine only accommodated 4 with one attached on the back, so I tried making my spine an inch wider (one extra accordion fold) which worked great for fitting in five pages, but not so great for punching with the crop-a-dile, so I would recommend that you just do 4 pages and follow Jenn's original dimensions. The other thing I changed was to add a smidge to the dimensions of the post-it-note pocket as a pad of post-its did not fit in my first pocket. I made mine using a piece of 5 1/4 x 4 1/4 but if I had it to do a third time I'd use 5 1/8 x 4 1/8. Thanks Jenn for such an adorable idea!! I think I'm going to use this as one of the teacher gifts this year:)
Recipe:
Cardstock - riding hood red, old olive, whisper white
DSP - bella rose
Stamps - SU One of a Kind
Accessories - hodgepodge, RR striped ribbon

Happy Mother's Day Bouquet Card
This is my mother's mother's day card...it's ok, I can post it here, she's never online. I've been inspired by several flower cards over the last month or so... like Jenn's, Dawn's and Stephanie's.

Mother's Day Mini Album
Sorry I haven't been posting many projects lately. Any free crafting time has pretty much been spent getting ready for yesterday... Yesterday I did a mother's day project with my daughter's class. I tried to keep the project fairly basic, but also make it something the kids could make their own... and I was blown away of their creativity! Here's the basic idea for the project (of course, the kids filled theirs up with pictures and poems and notes to mom:). The project is basically a mini album made using 2 4x4 coasters for the front and the back with an accordian fold inside. Here's a link to instructions for a similar album (just different dimensions...thanks Angie!)
