Watercolor Wings - KISS Card

Thought I'd share one last card using the Watercolor Wings stamp set this week and this one is a KISS card...Keep It Simple Stamper!  This is basically a one layer card...a whisper white card base stamped with the images that make for the small butterfly (in wisteria wonder, perfect plum & blackberry bliss) and a sentiment cut out of silver glimmer paper with the Hello You thinlets.  Simple & beautiful:)

Another alternate fold on today's card made with the Watercolor Wings stampset & coordinating framelits...this time a Joy fold.  The background of the focal piece was actually stamped with the vine & rose images from the Floral Wings stampset I featured a few days ago.

Here's what the card looks like open:

Watercolor Wings - 2nd July Make & Take

This card was the 2nd make & take I did at my July workshop.  It's a gatefold card and was made with the new Watercolor Wings stampset which also uses the Bold Butterfly framelits (which can be purchased directly with the stamp set at a 15% savings in a bundle, see page 75 of the annual catalog or look for it online at this link:  http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/sherribstampin)

I love how the Watercolor Wings stamp set makes me feel like an artist.  The butterfly image is created with the multi-layer stamping technique...on this project we stamped in Pink Piroette and then Rose red stamped off and Rose Red full strength.  The body & accents near there, we used Momento Black ink.  The stripped dsp on this project comes from the Go Wild dsp stack, a 6 x 6 pad of 48 pages of dsp that is a great value in the annual catalog.

To order the Watercolor Wings stamp set or the Bundle with the framelits, you can contact me or place your order directly online at the following link:  http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/sherribstampin  ...unlike the Floral Wings stamp set my last few posts, this stampset is available to all customers, hosting a workshop or placing a minimum order is not a requirement:)

Below is the inside of the above card, with the smaller butterfly image of the stamp set stamped in the bottom right corner...

Floral Wings - bouquet of roses card

Yet another way to use the Floral Wings hostess stamp set & this one doesn't involve the main butterfly image...  a vase full of roses!  This card was made on a whisper white card base with a b&w matt from the Go Wild dsp, then the images were stamped on a piece of whisper white using images from the Floral wings stamp set.  The vase was popped up with a dimensional and trimmed with a piece of mint macaron dotted lace trim.

To get your own Floral Wings stamp set, either host a workshop/card club or place a minimum qualifying order at the following link:  http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/sherribstampin

Happy Floral Wings

Another card I've made with the Floral Wings hostess set.  I used the same colour palette as the last 2 projects.  The bottom border on the whisper white piece was created with a piece of washi tape, and while the 'happy' was created with the same Hello You thinlets.  While the 'happy' was cut from a piece of whisper white cardstock, I then pressed it in a silver ink encore ink pad  to create the image you see...this could have also been accomplished by cutting it out of silver shimmer paper.

Translating Floral Wings Decor Project to a Make & Take

Since my last project was so popular when I posted it on Instagram, so I decided to translate it into a make & take card for my July workshop and this is what it looked like. It involved the same steps and techniques, same colours, stamps, inks, papers & lace trim:)  I think my favourite thing about this card is the softness created by the bokeh technique on the Mint Macaroon background:)

In my previous post using the Floral Wings stampset I didn't mention that there is a coordinating Framelit set that cuts out the butterfly.  That's because I fussy cut it out by hand, but once I fell in love with this stampset I needed the framelits, so I ordered the 'Bold Butterfly' framelit set and that is what I used with the guests at my July workshop to cut the above butterfly image out:)

I'll share the other make & take from July's workshop in a few days, but will share a few more Floral Wings projects first in the next day or two.

If you'd like to get your very own Floral Wings stamp set, contact me to host a workshop/card club or place a minimum order to qualify for hostess benefits. You can place an order online at this link: http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/sherribstampin  ...or you can contact me by email

Floral Wings - I have a favourite!

This project was made as an outpouring of something God is teaching me.  At the end of June our Pastor talked about really noticing what's going on in our lives, the blessings and the daily things we sometimes take for granted.  He really challenged us to 'take note' of such things over the summer...
As I reflected on this, I realized that I'm usually pretty good about taking note of things like beautiful skies & blessings & loved ones, but one day as I was doing my devotional, I realized that I'm not so good at taking notice of what God is doing in me...and of the progress...I can be so hard on myself and so focused on the fact that I haven't arrived & I'm far from perfect that I don't notice or celebrate the progress.  That was a 'hello' moment for me and  so I made this project to have framed in my office to remind me to 'take note' of all that God is doing in my life:)  (I Bible journaled about this too...see picture at the end of this post:)

This was project was made with an inexpensive frame I had picked up at Michaels.  I then put a piece of basic black cardstock behind the glass and I built the focal piece on top of the glass.  I used a piece of mint macaron card stock which I did the bokeh technique on (with craft white ink and a sponge dauber).  I then layered a piece of Go Wild dsp (the b&w stripes), a piece of velum I embossed with a Fun Frames folder and a piece of dotted lace trip.  I topped this with the butterfly image and the sentiment 'hello' which I cut using the Hello You Thinlets in whisper white.

The focal image of this piece is the butterfly though.  I stamped it in basic black and then went back with Strawberry Slush and Mint Macaron to fill in the roses and leaves:)  The stamped images come from the Floral Wings stamp set in the new annual catalog & YES, I do have a favourite stamp set and this is it!!  This stamp set is a hostess set, which means that it's only available to people who host a workshop/card club or place a minimum order ($200 or more in Canada).  It's a great value at only $13, hostess dollars that is...  Over the next day or two I'll show you a few more ways that I've been using my new favourite set!:))

...and for those interested, here is by Bible Journal page related to the story I told above which inspired today's project as I journaled on what God is teaching me in Colossians 3...

...v18 says we are being changed from one degree of glory to another...that growth & progress that I mentioned in my project story above...God's really been putting on my heart to enjoy this bit of glory on the way to the next, not to miss it!  In the words of Mama J, "I may not be where I need to be, but thank God I'm not where I used to Be!  ...I'm OK and I'm on my way!" <3 p="">
