Masculine Cards - From My Heart

I set out to make a couple of masculine thank you cards a couple of weeks ago because I don't have any in my stock.  Oh it's hard for me to make masculine...I always think the finish product could use some more bling and embellishment.

On these I purposely went for a vintage fell.  I used stamps from the From My Heart set and dsp from the Fan Fair collection.  they still feel a bit plain for me, but they do look a little better in person and my husband ensures me that they don't need more embellishment;)

More LOVE - Affection Collection

As you saw with many of my posts last week, I'm in love with the Affection Collection stamp set that is in the Holiday Catalog which starts on August 1.  Here's yet another card I made with it together with the lacy brocade embossing folder:)

British - Keep Calm & Carry On

Today's project is in honour of the opening ceremonies to the London Olympics...hence the wink & nudge to the British flag I created in the background to this project.  This project was created with midnight muse, very vanilla and raspberry ripple card stock.

Also, I'm very pleased to announce that the 'Carry On' hostess set is available again!!  And all you have to do to get yours for FREE is to hostess a workshop or participate in a stamp club (then you can choose it as a free item the month your get the hostess benefit)!  There is one spot still open for my fall stamp club which is starting in September, so if you are in the Saskatoon area and interested in joining, be sure to contact me!  Or if you want to start a stamp club of your own with your friends, I'd be happy to help you out:)

More Affection...Love Always

Another project I made with the new 'Affection Collection' stamp set from the up coming Holiday Catalog.  I made this little flag using baja breeze, early espresso and very vanilla cardstock.  The scalloped edge was done with the edgelets.  The ribbons are raspberry ripple stitched satin and victoria lace, and I added a few rhinestone jewels to finish it off!:)

Affection Collection! (Sneak Peek...shhhhh!)

My very favourite new stamp set coming out in the Holiday Catalog with starts on August 1 is the Affection Collection, and here's a sneak peek!

I got playing on the weekend with no one in particular in mind...I just made what I would like.  This stamp set suits my natural style well.  I love vintage, I love pretty, I love romantic...and it fits all of that!  And I used one other new item from the Holiday catalog on this card...I embossed the raspberry ripple card base with the new *lacy brocade embossing folder...and you should just see the detail in person!

If you don't already have your copy of the Holiday catalog and would like one, be sure to contact me!  It goes live August 1st!

Keep Calm & CREATE!

I have good news!!  It was announced at Stampin' Up's convention last week that the *Carry On hostess stamp set will be available again very soon!!

So in honour of that, and with some inspiration from Shelli Gardner herself, I made this bookmark!  "Keep Calm", comes from the hostess set mentioned above and "CREATE" comes from the Layered Labels stamp set which I used with the coordinating apothecary accents framelits and my big shot. The dsp used comes from the neutrals specialty pack and the cardstock used is raspberry ripple, very vanilla and baja breeze (oh, and the bottom raspberry ripple piece was stamped with Viola's Lace builder wheel:)

More Reasons to Smile (*Hurry, offer ends July 31, 2012)

As July winds down I thought I'd remind you once more of the July 'Reason to Smile" promotion.  During July when you place a $60 Stampin Up order, in person, at a workshop or online you will be elgible to purchase the Reason to Smile stampset (clear mount or wood mount) for only $5.  I used the Reason to Smile stamp set to stamp the flowers in both of the cards above.  The base of the cards are both gumball green...I'm trying to make myself use green more as I'm not naturally drawn to any greens, but I think this particular shade will become a fast favourite of mine when we move into the Christmas season this year.... Speaking of which, the Holiday catalog comes out on August 1...be sure to contact me if you would like a copy!:)

Simple Box made with Simply Scored

This is just a simple box I made a couple of weeks ago for a card and small gift I had made for a friend.  When my cards have too much dimension for an envelope or I made an odd shaped gift  love to just make my own box to fit them...this box is fairly shallow at only 3/4" for example.

AND Connie Stewart showed me how to make a shim for my simply scored from Stampin Up that makes box making even easier...because once you have your shim all you have to do to make your top to your box is the exact things you did with your bottom but insert your shim on your simply scored and Voila!:)

I thought I would also post a link to Connie's you tube video showing how to make the simply scored box making shim in case any of you were interested.

As for decorating this box...again I used the builder wheels from page 108 of the new catalog (violas lace is probably my favourite:)  I used Papillon Potpouri and the butterfly punch for the butterflies.  I used the tag punches for the tag and I stamped it with an image from Trust God.  The bow is just a simple paper bow using some card stock...easy peasy:)

Quick Bookmarks

Just a couple of quick bookmarks today that I made for a special little girl I was sending a birthday card to.  These bookmarks are made with the two tags die and the scallop and circle punches.  I also used the builder wheel with all 3 of the wheels from page 108 in the new catalog.  The sentiments come from the new new Trust God stamp set and the butterflies are from Papillon Potpouri stamp set and coordinating punch.

Postage Due/Fan Fair Card #2

Postage Due/Fan Fair Card #1

This was the first card we made in the card project at Stamp Camp on the weekend.  We coloured the postage due stamp with markers and punched it out with the postage stamp punch.  The crumb cake accent beneath it was cut using the apothecary accents framelits and embossed with the argyle embossing folder.

Stamp Camp Project #3 - Treatholder

This was our 3rd project at Stamp Camp this weekend.  It's a treatholder (and it may just contain some Hershey chocolate, perfect for a s'more, in a glassine envelope;)  It was made out of two of pieced of baja breeze cardstock cutout with the largest labels framelit die.  The stamped image comes from the new From My Heart stamp set, which I love!  The dsp is from twitterpated and it's matted in basic grey with coordinating stitched basic grey grosgrain tying it closed at the top.

This was Project #2 at yesterday's Stamp Camp.  We made a mini scrapbook album inside a thin tin and we embossed the tin!  The main stamp set used was Everything Eleanor but we also used the Morning Post Alphabet set too.  The dsp was from the comfort cafe pack and the cardstock is midnight muse and summer starfruit.

A Couple More Pages from Our London MDS Scrapbook - ABBEY ROAD!

Here are a couple more pages from the MDS scrapbook I posed about yesterday.  This time, our visit to Abbey Road Studios and walk across that famous crosswalk.  My husband is a huge Beatles fan and thought this was an absolute thrill!

My Digital Studio (MDS) is amazing for getting together your scrapbooks of trip quickly...and I love having the output of a hard cover book to keep my memories forever when I'm done!  Contact me if you want to learn more about MDS!:)

MDS - Another Completed Scrapbook!

I finished my scrapbook of our trip to London in MDS (My Digital Studio) and sent it off for printing & binding the other day...all 74 pages!  That is my favourite thing about MDS is how easy it is to create scrapbooks and photo books of your adventures and then get them bound and printed into a hard cover book that you can keep forever.  Scrapbooking the traditional way I would never be done this been yet, but it's submitted and soon I should receive the bound copy in my hands!

Above is just one of the simple pages.  I'm loved using the new Fan Fair Digital Suite in this book.  If you have MDS you should check it out, and if you don't have MDS yet, feel free to contact me and I can get you some more information!

Happy Canada Day!!

Happy Canada Day!  I truly believe it is a great privilege to be Canadian, and so I wanted to do something special for my crafting friends this Canada day.  Combine that with the fact that this year Stampin' Up is celebrating its 10th year in Canada and I thought...Canada...10...Canada...10...so here is what I have come up with...

On this Canada Day long weekend - ie. July 1st (and I've decided to do this on the 2nd too)...for these 2 days only, I will pay the standard 10% shipping any Stampin Up order you place with me...which is, of course, a 10% savings to you:)  (see ** for how to be eligible for this offer)

And you can combine this offer with the Reason to Smile promotion I mentioned in my last post...meaning if you place an order of $60 or more (b4 taxes) on July 1 or 2, you will get the Reason to Smile stampset for only $5 AND free shipping!

** Now to be eligible for this offer, you will need to live in Canada.  I will honour this offer on customer orders (placed in person, by telephone and by email) of any amount, and I will also honour it for any ONLINE orders if they are over $100 too.  The reason I say, over $100 for online orders is that minimum shipping on an individual order is $9.95 and then reverts to 10% once the order is over $100.  Orders placed with me via telephone and by email etc. can be grouped to achieve the 10%, but I can't do that on individual online orders.  If you place an online order over $100, I will contact you to arrange to reimburse you for the 10% shippiing that you automatically got charged on your online order.    This offer is only valid July 1 and 2, 2012.

Want a Reason to Smile? (July's SPECIAL:)

There are plenty of reasons to smile in July with the Reasons to Smile set - only $5 when you spend $60!  But don't wait to get yours, this exclusive set is only available during this special offer!!

I, for one, am loving playing with this beautiful *two-step stamping set...and the flower images are so summery...daisies and sunflowers always make me smile:)

  • Spend $60 on any current Stampin' Up! products to get the exclusive Reason to Smile Set for just $5.
  • Orders may be placed on any order type (customer, demonstrator, workshop, or online).
  • There is a limit of one (1) set per customer.
  • You will not be automatically prompted to enter the $5 Item Number for a qualifying purchase. Use the item codes in the table above.
  • The Reason to Smile Set is exclusive to this promotion and will not be available after July 31, 2012.
