Flower Patch

I thought I'd share the journaling I did in my Bible this morning.  I was journaling in Psalm 103 and singing 10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord) all the while.  The flowers just sort of spilled out of my heart while I did so:)  I used the Flower Patch stamp set on this page along with the following SU inks:  wisteria wonder, pink pirouette, pear pizzazz, pool party & strawberry slush (ss is now retired, but the others are all still available).

Bloom - more Bible Journaling with 'Work of Art'

As I was Bible Journaling in 1 Corinthians 7 this morning, I once again pulled out SU's Work of Art stamp set.  Can you spot all the ways I used it as I illustrated my faith on this page?  In terms of ink, I just used my black stazon and pink pirouette.

Work of Art...Bible Journaling

I thought I'd share another example of how I'm using my crafting & stampin supplies as I journal in my Bible.  On this page I was focused on Eph 2 and I used the Work of Art stampset and the Bold Butterflies thinlet dies. Colours used were:  pink pirouette, pear pizzaz and pool party...and of course, stazon's best in Bible journaling, doesn't bleed:)

More Watercolor Wings - pink!

Just sharing another card I made with the Watercolor Wings stampset and bold butterfly dies.  Took the picture in the even so it's a bit dark.  This time I stamped the butterfly with pink pirouette (stamped off, then stamped full strength) and then melon mambo.  The dsp on this card is from the Wild at Heart stack.  The vellum with gold print is from a sheet of dsp I've had for a while from a scrapbook shop once on one of our trips.

Watercolor Wings - KISS Card

Thought I'd share one last card using the Watercolor Wings stamp set this week and this one is a KISS card...Keep It Simple Stamper!  This is basically a one layer card...a whisper white card base stamped with the images that make for the small butterfly (in wisteria wonder, perfect plum & blackberry bliss) and a sentiment cut out of silver glimmer paper with the Hello You thinlets.  Simple & beautiful:)

Another alternate fold on today's card made with the Watercolor Wings stampset & coordinating framelits...this time a Joy fold.  The background of the focal piece was actually stamped with the vine & rose images from the Floral Wings stampset I featured a few days ago.

Here's what the card looks like open:

Watercolor Wings - 2nd July Make & Take

This card was the 2nd make & take I did at my July workshop.  It's a gatefold card and was made with the new Watercolor Wings stampset which also uses the Bold Butterfly framelits (which can be purchased directly with the stamp set at a 15% savings in a bundle, see page 75 of the annual catalog or look for it online at this link:

I love how the Watercolor Wings stamp set makes me feel like an artist.  The butterfly image is created with the multi-layer stamping technique...on this project we stamped in Pink Piroette and then Rose red stamped off and Rose Red full strength.  The body & accents near there, we used Momento Black ink.  The stripped dsp on this project comes from the Go Wild dsp stack, a 6 x 6 pad of 48 pages of dsp that is a great value in the annual catalog.

To order the Watercolor Wings stamp set or the Bundle with the framelits, you can contact me or place your order directly online at the following link:  ...unlike the Floral Wings stamp set my last few posts, this stampset is available to all customers, hosting a workshop or placing a minimum order is not a requirement:)

Below is the inside of the above card, with the smaller butterfly image of the stamp set stamped in the bottom right corner...

Floral Wings - bouquet of roses card

Yet another way to use the Floral Wings hostess stamp set & this one doesn't involve the main butterfly image...  a vase full of roses!  This card was made on a whisper white card base with a b&w matt from the Go Wild dsp, then the images were stamped on a piece of whisper white using images from the Floral wings stamp set.  The vase was popped up with a dimensional and trimmed with a piece of mint macaron dotted lace trim.

Happy Floral Wings

Another card I've made with the Floral Wings hostess set.  I used the same colour palette as the last 2 projects.  The bottom border on the whisper white piece was created with a piece of washi tape, and while the 'happy' was created with the same Hello You thinlets.  While the 'happy' was cut from a piece of whisper white cardstock, I then pressed it in a silver ink encore ink pad  to create the image you see...this could have also been accomplished by cutting it out of silver shimmer paper.

To get your Floral Wings hostess set, you can host a workshop/card club or place a minimum order here at this link:

Translating Floral Wings Decor Project to a Make & Take

Since my last project was so popular when I posted it on Instagram, so I decided to translate it into a make & take card for my July workshop and this is what it looked like. It involved the same steps and techniques, same colours, stamps, inks, papers & lace trim:)  I think my favourite thing about this card is the softness created by the bokeh technique on the Mint Macaroon background:)

In my previous post using the Floral Wings stampset I didn't mention that there is a coordinating Framelit set that cuts out the butterfly.  That's because I fussy cut it out by hand, but once I fell in love with this stampset I needed the framelits, so I ordered the 'Bold Butterfly' framelit set and that is what I used with the guests at my July workshop to cut the above butterfly image out:)

I'll share the other make & take from July's workshop in a few days, but will share a few more Floral Wings projects first in the next day or two.

If you'd like to get your very own Floral Wings stamp set, contact me to host a workshop/card club or place a minimum order to qualify for hostess benefits. You can place an order online at this link:  ...or you can contact me by email

Floral Wings - I have a favourite!

This project was made as an outpouring of something God is teaching me.  At the end of June our Pastor talked about really noticing what's going on in our lives, the blessings and the daily things we sometimes take for granted.  He really challenged us to 'take note' of such things over the summer...
As I reflected on this, I realized that I'm usually pretty good about taking note of things like beautiful skies & blessings & loved ones, but one day as I was doing my devotional, I realized that I'm not so good at taking notice of what God is doing in me...and of the progress...I can be so hard on myself and so focused on the fact that I haven't arrived & I'm far from perfect that I don't notice or celebrate the progress.  That was a 'hello' moment for me and  so I made this project to have framed in my office to remind me to 'take note' of all that God is doing in my life:)  (I Bible journaled about this too...see picture at the end of this post:)

This was project was made with an inexpensive frame I had picked up at Michaels.  I then put a piece of basic black cardstock behind the glass and I built the focal piece on top of the glass.  I used a piece of mint macaron card stock which I did the bokeh technique on (with craft white ink and a sponge dauber).  I then layered a piece of Go Wild dsp (the b&w stripes), a piece of velum I embossed with a Fun Frames folder and a piece of dotted lace trip.  I topped this with the butterfly image and the sentiment 'hello' which I cut using the Hello You Thinlets in whisper white.

The focal image of this piece is the butterfly though.  I stamped it in basic black and then went back with Strawberry Slush and Mint Macaron to fill in the roses and leaves:)  The stamped images come from the Floral Wings stamp set in the new annual catalog & YES, I do have a favourite stamp set and this is it!!  This stamp set is a hostess set, which means that it's only available to people who host a workshop/card club or place a minimum order ($200 or more in Canada).  It's a great value at only $13, hostess dollars that is...  Over the next day or two I'll show you a few more ways that I've been using my new favourite set!:))

...and for those interested, here is by Bible Journal page related to the story I told above which inspired today's project as I journaled on what God is teaching me in Colossians 3...

...v18 says we are being changed from one degree of glory to another...that growth & progress that I mentioned in my project story above...God's really been putting on my heart to enjoy this bit of glory on the way to the next, not to miss it!  In the words of Mama J, "I may not be where I need to be, but thank God I'm not where I used to Be!  ...I'm OK and I'm on my way!" <3 p="">

New Catalog Workshop Make & Takes...everything SPRINKLED WITH LIFE!

These are the two make & takes we did at last night's workshop.  We used the SPRINKLED WITH LIFE new stampset that I've been featuring all week and the coordinating tree builder punch!  ...and once again, we used these products in a completely different way than before...

Ice Cream anyone?!
On this birthday card, we build a 3 scoop ice cream cone with the same stampset & punch...and we even sprinkled it with a little dazzling details and/or dazzling diamonds (whichever one you have on hand will work & if you don't have either, you're gonna want one of them;)

This card features the following new in colors which were sponged onto the ice cream scoops using sponge daubers:  Tip Top Taupe, Mint Macaron & Watermelon Wonder.  The base of the cone was stamped in black stazon on a piece of Delightful Dijon card stock, another one of the new  in colours.  I also thought I'd mention that the mint macaron matt piece was embossed with the hearts embossing folder which thankfully carried over from the Occasions Catalog to the NEW Annual Catalog!

Our next project was this adorable self-closing box which we made from a piece of 4.5" x 6.5" Watermelon Wonder card stock:

This project is trimmed with the gorgeous new in colour dotted lace ribbon (comes in each of the new in colours) and was stamped with the flower image from the SPRINKLED WITH LIFE stamp set!  The heart edge at the top was created using the hearts border punch which carried over to the new catalog!:)

Even More SPRINKLED WITH LIFE! ...Christmas anyone? Reindeer?

So as I get ready for my new catalog workshop tonight, I couldn't resist giving you one more idea for using the SPRINKLED WITH LIFE stamp set and the coordinating TREE BUILDER PUNCH...this time, let's think's only 200 days or so away;)
That's right, these adorable Christmas tags were made with the same suite of products that I've been featuring the last couple of days (although today I did use Christmas colours instead of the new in colours:)  ...see how great the trunk from the tree builder punch works for antlers, and the raindrop it punches also makes for excellent eyes & ears!  ...oh & I did use one new in colour...the base of the reindeer is Tip Top Taupe!

These are the projects I've featured this week using this new suite of products...
I'm sure you agree, the versatility of this stamp set in punch is amazing!  I'll be using it again tonight at my New Catalog Workshop and I'll be back tomorrow to share 2 more ideas that we will be making tonight as free make & takes at the workshop!

If you'd like to place an order, please click here to order online or contact me before 7pm tonight.  Please use the following hostess code if you are ordering before 7pm tonight (June 4, 2015):  G3E6VRGV

Today I'm sharing a few more cards made with the NEW stamp set, SPRINKLED WITH LIFE, which benefits the Ronald McDonald House Charities!

Cupcake anyone?!

Yes, the tree images, the cloud, the tree builder punch too, they can all be used to make un-tree-like images, like this adorable cupcake complete with sprinkles on the card above!  As with yesterday's cards, this card & the ones below once again feature the following new in colours:  watermelon wonder, tip top taupe & mint macaron!

How about a birthday (cup)cake?!
This card also uses the flower & candle images from the Sprinkled with Life stamp set...and yet another greeting...we all have birthday's so this greeting will get used a lot!

Or, how about a basket of flowers to say 'thanks'...
Same stamp set, same punch...totally different effect!

I can't get over how much you can do with this stampset & punch...check back tomorrow for MORE ideas!!

New Annual Catalog Goes LIVE today!!! ...and it's Sprinkled with Life!

The NEW Annual Catalog from Stampin' Up goes LIVE today!!
One of my favourite new stamp sets from the new catty is this year's Ronald McDonald House set, SPRINKLED WITH LIFE!  It is SO versatile as you will see from my posts today & over the next few days **AND**  a portion of the proceeds on every purchase of this stamp set goes directly to this wonderful charity!!
Not only is it a great stamp set, but SU has also released a NEW coordinating TREE BUILDER PUNCH that works with many of the images in the stamp set!!
Here are a few samples (each was made with the same base, one of SU's whisper white notecards...don't you just love the notecards?!:)
Every cloud does have a silver lining, don't you think?!  For this card, I stamped the cloud image with versamark & then embossed in silver...then I punched it out with the new tree builder punch.  The raindrop were punched out in a rainbow of colours from SU cardstock also using the the new tree builder punch!:)

Here I stamped the tree images from Sprinkled with Life numerous times to create a huge tree with deep routes to give you an idea of how you can use the stampset to create more than just one version of a tree...I didn't use the coordinating punch on this card althought is would work with the tree trunks & leaves.  I also stamped the falling leaves and flowers & stems using the same stamp set.  All colours on this card are new in colours, namely, I featured:  Mint Macaron for the leaves, Tip Top Taupe for the tree trunks and the 'spread the love' tag and Watermelon Wonder for the flowers:)

On this card I featured the same NEW in colours but I used the tree trunk stamp differently...this time it's a branch and I punched it out using the builder punch!  Then the nest is a cluster of the leaves stamp which was partially punches.  The little bird image is also in the stamp set & the punch coordinates too.  There's no end to what you can do with this stampset & punch!
To order SPRINKLED WITH LIFE, the coordinating TREE BUILDER PUNCH, the NEW IN COLOURS or anything else from the new catalog, please contact me OR click here to place an order online.  If you place an order online, please consider using my current hostess code:  G3E6VRGV  ...which is open until 7pm Thursday June 4, 2015.  Thanks!!

Retiring Products - Occasions Catalog also Ends June 2nd - Painted Petals

Just a reminder that the Occasions Catalog also ends on June 2nd & many of the items will not be carried over to the new Annual Catalog, including the beautiful Painted Petals designer series paper and coordinating stamp set.  This was, by far, some of the prettiest paper that SU has ever designed.  I used some for these projects over the weekend as I was preparing some door prizes.

The treat bag in the foreground uses the treat bag thinlet dies which will be carrying over to the new Annual Catalog (and there may just be a new coordinating stampset to go along with them there...hint, hint!;)  The treat bag in the background is one of the treat bags currently sold in the Annual Catalog which ends on June these will be retiring.

Be sure to place an order online at this link if you want any of the retiring products from the current annual catalog or the occasions catalog as both end June 2nd.  Here is a link for your convenience.

Retiring Products Reminder - Current Catalog ends June 2nd - Flashback

The current catalog ends on June 2nd (which mean a new catalog also begins that day:)  It is always sad to see favourite products go or retire.  As I was preparing for my new catalog workshop over the weekend and putting together some door prizes, I couldn't resist using some of my favourites that will be retiring.  Today I thought I'd feature the Flashback designer series paper for you.  I made this cute little treat bag using the treatbag thinlets (not retiring...yeah!) to package one of my doorprizes.  I just love the bold pattern of this paper & especially the colour palette.

If there are any retiring products you want, be sure to place your order online by June 2nd.  See this link for a list of all retiring products and a link to my Stampin Up website where you can place your order:)

The New Annual Catalog is Coming! ...goes live June 2nd!!!

I received my copy of the 2015-16 Annual Catalog which goes live June 2nd this week...and I received the supply of catalogs I've ordered.  I haven't quite delivered to all my club girls yet (given recent events), but this is in process.  If you live in Saskatoon and want a copy of the catalog & have not received one yet, please contact me & we'll arrange for you to get one.

Also, as you can see above, I have added tabs to my copy of the annual catalog.  If you'd like to receive the word document I created to make the tabs, please leave your email address in a comment below or email me and I will be happy to send it to you.  For some reason Blogger will not let me include a link to the document in this post.

The 2015-17 *new* in colours are above.  I made a bookmark featuring each of them and slipped it into the catalogs for each of my club ladies this weekend.  The new in colours are:  watermelon wonder, cucumber crush, delightful Dijon, mint macaroon & tip top taupe...and I already have a favourite!:)

And what, may you ask, is my favourite? ...why it's the very colour of the Laduree tea salon and more in Paris

MINT MACARON!!!  (pronounced:  maca-roon...ask any Frenchman!:)

I've started a board on pinterest for 'mint macaron'...loving all the colour combinations I'm coming up with for it!!

And, speaking of colour combinations, how about this one:  mint macaron, tip-top tauge & watermelon wonder?....
Love, love love, the new lace trim that comes in ALL of the new in colours!

What's your favourite of the new colours?

Explaining a Long Absense..

(The beautiful art above was created by my talented upline, Shawna McKenzie)

Without going into a lot of details, earlier this month my Mom passed away very suddenly.  It has been a difficult time in many ways, but God is always good and we are doing ok.

Today I'm sharing the card my SU upline & friend sent me.  Shawna is an amazing artist & the card is stunningly beautiful!  I love the way she used many elements from the On Film Framelists to the way she coloured the floral image, and especially, the use of the Dictionary background stamp (which is retiring).

A special thank you to all of those blog readers who have sent messages, cards and flowers, and especially to those who have prayed!!

Birthday gift for a Friend at Work

It's a work chum's bday on Tuesday & she's always commenting on the things I've made in my office so I had to make her a little something;)
This is how I wrapped it...I used SU's treatback die to create the little bag & even to embellish the tags:)
...and this little notepad with a cover made from a window sheet is her little gift...I used the 'hello you' thinlets to cut the word 'hello' from silver glimmer paper...
And finally, this is the birthday card I made to go along with the friend loves pool party in all it's shades which include coastal cabana and lost lagoon:)

Circle Journal on a Snow Day

Yes, the 26th of April and we've had over 10 inches of snow in the past 24 hours!?!  Church was even cancelled this morning!  I don't recall that ever happening before?!!  But it did give me some time to work on my circle journal....

My circle journal is a place where I plan to journal about verses and thoughts that God gives me as He inspires me to do so.  When I work on my journal I'm not working with any one company's craft supplies (usually most posts are mainly SU)...instead I'm working with whatever captures my heart in my stash in the moment...

It's a work in progress, but here's a glimpse so far...the cover:
I used the back-to-back binding method for this journal and left off a spine because of how I want to display it (see below).  I still plan to paint the spine in gold or silver to finish it off, but this is where I'm at on this snowy day...

...and below is how I plan to display it...
The pages & tags will be filled in as I said when God inspires me with a verse or word:)

That's the Ticket - One of my Favourites is Retiring!!

There are a few things on SU's retiring stamps list that surprised me because they are all time favourites of mine like:
- dictionary & postcard background stamps!
- chalk talk & the coordinating framelits!
- postage due stamp set
- apothecary accents framelits
- that's the ticket stampset & coordinating die!!!

I can't imagine getting rid of any of the items above, they are staples in my stash:)  There may be other retiring items that I will eventually sell off, but not these:)

Today my card features the that's the ticket stamp set and coordinating punch (I also used some color shine goodies & mint color shine from HS:)  It was a dear friend's birthday earlier this month & this was the card I had made for her:)

Tag Talk & Many More

Today I'm sharing a card I made using Heidi Swapp's color shine line for a very special birthday celebration this weekend:)  The stampsets I pulled out for this card fro SU were:  Tag Talk (and the coordinating punch) and 'And Many More".  Inks used were pool party, stazon black and blushing bride.

Instagram Album using So You Project Kit

This weekend I finished an album of my 2014 Instagram favourite pictures using the So You Project Kit from SU.  The kit can be found on page 42 of the Occasions Catalog.  You'll notice that my album looks completely different than the one SU has featured.  That's one of the things I like about it, the versatility.  I had so many instagrams from 2014 that I wanted to put in the album that I didn't create many pages that were just decorative...almost all of them are 4x4 photos:)
Above is just a sample of what is inside.  you can stamp right on pictures, but what I prefer to do & what I did here was to stamp on window sheets and then insert them on top of the picture.  4x4 blank window sheets are included in the kit.  I stamped using several favourite stamp sets I have, but what's important to remember is to use stazon ink when stamping on window sheets (or pictures)'s solvent based so won't smudge off once dry:)

How about you?  What have you done with your instagram pictures?  I know so many people who never get their pictures off their phone/camera these days, so I'm issuing a challenge, print your pictures!  ...and then put them in an album or memory file or some kind of project & show me:)  My favourite way to do that is with Project Life these days & this project kit was like a mini version of that sized perfect for 4x4 pictures only, but there are lots of options with Project Life for all sizes of pictures!  My favourite two are the Let's Get Away card collection (see Occasions Catalog) and the Love Story card collection (see Annual Catalog).  Pocket memory keeping is definitely the may much of my scrapbooking has gone in the last year or two & it seems to be a staying trend in the industry too!:)

Weekend Class/Workshop - Project #3 - Painted Petals Card

You've seen a different version of this card on my blog previously, but I changed it up for this class when the butterfly framelits used in the previous 2 projects went on backorder so I could add a project with a different stampset...this time, Painted Petals.  We also used the Hello You thinklets to cut the word 'you' out of a piece of coastal cabana...we then masked the word 'you' off of the stamp 'You are amazingly amazing' to create a neat effect. The flower images were stamped in the following in colours which will be retiring at the end of May (which makes me sad...they are some of my favourite):  Coastal cabana, strawberry slush & crisp canteloup...the edges of the vanilla stamped piece are sitting on strips of washi tape placed 1/8" from either side of the card base.
