Bliss Make & Take

The second make & take at this weekend's workshop was this Bliss card made from baja breeze cardstock, vintage spring DSP, and of course my favourite SAB stampset, Bliss! This stampset is only available during SAB which ends on Thursday March 31st. If you haven't gotten yours for free yet, be sure to contact me by March 30th to place your qualifying order!

We also played with the adornments from the Occasions Mini on this card! I just love these roses!:)

Petal Cone Make & Take

For our first make & take yesterday we made these cones using the designer series paper, ribbon & accessories you can earn for free in SAB! The paper is so vivid - perfect for spring or Easter or a birthday party! These cones are easy to make with the petal cone die from the Occasions Mini for the Big Shot. The sentiment stamp is from the Oval You stampset in the Idea Book & Catalog.

If you want to get your own pack of this paper or the matching embellishments, be sure to contact me before March 31st when SAB draws to a close. The last qualifying order will go in on the evening of March 30th!

Another little gift for Kim:)

The workshop today was great! At every workshop I do one demonstration project (and the others are make & takes that you get to do & keep). The hostess gets to keep what I make for the demonstration project. At Kim's workshop I made this little bookmark out of a bevelled windowpane using the Clearly for You stampset:) This is a fun and easy project. I'm loving discovering new ways to use the bevelled windowpanes. They are in the Occasions mini which is good until April 30th:)

Oh and you can also get another sneak peak at the new four frames stampset coming out in the new Idea Book & Catalog July 1 here. For the month of April with a minimum purchase you can order this stampset in advance of it's release (together with some new DSP) - OR if you hostess a qualifying workshop you could earn it for FREE!

Workshop today:)

Just getting all packed up for Kim's workshop today...it's going to be so much fun! This is a little gift I've made for Kim and one I've made for the doorprize at the workshop. I got the idea for using my scallop square from my Big Shot this way from Becky this week:) Inside each is a stamp and couple of chocolates:) (Don't you wish you were coming?!)

These are made with always artichoke cardstock and seambinding ribbon, the springtime vintage DSP, Define you Life & Broadsheet Alphabet stamps, and bit of naturals ivory cardstock AND my personal favourite...the vanilla rosettes!

SAB is almost over...just a few more days til March 31. The Occasions Mini (where the rosettes are) carries over one more month til April 30th. Still no word as to whether some of the new accessories (like the rosettes, the adornments or the trinkets) might carry over into the new Idea Book and Catalog that comes out July 1, so I'm stocking up in case I can't order them again:)

Sneak Peek - Four Frames!

OK, you've waited long enough!;) Earlier this week I posted that I had received some new goodies and so I've been playing and decided that today would be the day that I'd share my excitement with you!!

As a demonstrator Stampin' Up gave me a sneak peek at a couple of new items for the new Idea Book & Catalog that will be coming out July 1st! That's right, in mid-March, I got to see a couple of things and not only that, I got to pre-order the Four Frames stamp set - and I *love* it!! It coordinates pefectly with my favourite punch the designer label punch! I am loving playing around with it. (Image on this card that was stamped with four frames is the cherry cobbler piece!) ...and if you host a workshop in April, you may be able to earn this set for free (together with some great new paper!) ...and if you place an order of $25 or more in April you can purchase both or either of 3 whole months before they are even released to the general public!!
This is the first card I've made with the new set! I had also placed an order to replenish my cardstock at the sametime as I pre-ordered this stampset and so I had a fresh stack of cherry cobbler, early espresso and not quite nave and I looked at them sitting on my craft desk and I thought 'what an amazing colour combination'?! And that is where the inspiration for this card came from. I also used my Very Vintage jumbo wheel on this project, as well as my vintage wallpaper embossing folder, flower trio punch & a button brad from the vintage trinkets pack! :)

A 'tea'rific day!

Hope you're having a 'tea'rific day!! Last night while I had the green out...or in this case, the river rock, I also made this card - again with my Morning Cup stamp set form Stampin' Up. The patterned paper is also from the same neutral DSP pack that yesterday's post used. This is one of the most versatile stacks of paper I've gotten I've been using it all year! Whenever I don't know what I want, I go and flip through that pack! I also used some striped grosgrain ribbon on this card. I *love* that ribbon! It is SO easy to work with!!
It's hard to believe it's already March 18th?!! Sale-a-bration is almost over for another year, just 12 days left to earn free stuff. If you haven't gotten your SAB goodies yet, give me a call...I wouldn't want you to miss out. (If you don't have my number, just email me...see the right sidebar for my email addy).

Perk Up! It's St. Patty's Day:)

Kimberley recently asked if I had any stamp sets that I loved and bought but hadn't used yet and I was so guilty...I had bought the Morning Cup set and it hadn't even seen ink yet!

So inspired by the monocromatic card she made today, I made one of my own with the Morning Cup stampset. And in honour of St. Patty's Day I used river rock cardstock which has a greenish tone to it...along with the coordinating dsp. I finished it off with some crumb cake seam binding ribbon and a button from button latte. I used the framed tulip embossing folder and it all came together pretty qucily because I used 3 of my favourite punches:)

Recent Workshop Make & Takes - Bookmark

I've made versions of the corner bookmark before based on a tutorial on splitcoast. This one I created as a make and take for a recent workshop using the Clearly For You stampset from the Occasions Mini. Clearly for You was one of my favourite things in the Mini because it's full of romantic images with a vintage feel:) I just loved the little bird trio!! On this bookmark I paired it with some of the botanical gazette DSP and a marina mist satin ribbon:)

Here's a sneak peak at next Saturday's class where we'll be making 6 vintage cards and coordinating card box. Some of the inspiration for these cards came from page 124 of the Idea Book & Catalog and some came from Shelli herself:) The class if completely full, but I would run another if there were at least 4-6 people interested as well, so email me if that interest you!

The next vintage cards class, Vintage Cards II will run on Saturday April 9th if you are interested - pictures of the cardset will follow in a week or two.

Recipe (all SU):
Card stock - basic black, crumb cake, riding hood red, very vanilla

Thank You Card

I made this card for a sweet woman who brought a lovely bottle of wine to me when she attended her first workshop! Now that kind of sweetness deserved a card, don't you think?!:)

The card base is cherry cobbler card stock, and I used my favourite stamp set - artisitc etchings along with the en francais background:) The black embossed vintage image at the bottom comes from the very vintage wheel which I stamped in versamark and then heat set with black embossing powder. The ribbon is cherry cobbler seam binding that has been crinkled up...I love that effect!:)

Sweet Little Girl's Birthday

I made this card a couple of weeks ago for a sweet little girl's birthday in our neighbour- hood.

I used the Birthday Bakery stampset which is one of the current hostess sets...it has so many adorable images! The card base is pretty in pink card stock, and the patterned paper is from the in color dsp pack which is also an exclusive hostess reward. If you don't have either of these yet, give me a call to book a workshop and you could earn them for free along with other great rewards on now during sale-a-bration!

I coloured the cakes and pedelstals using SUs markers, and the 'wish big' sentiment comes from the short & sweet stampset. The project is finished off with pretty in pink grossgrain ribbon and a rhinestone from the jewels page:)

Happy Birthday Dolly!

Today is mydaughter'sbirthday...my daughter, who has a fascination for Asian food & Asian culture. This made for a challenge for me as my creative style doesn't really tend in that direction, but my heart tends in Amanda's direction so this is the card I came up with... It reads 'Happy 16th Birthday' in Japanese on the front and has a message both in Japanese & English inside. I black embossed the flowers from the Elements of Style set to create the pattern for the card on a ridinghood red cardstock base. The banner is made out of very vanilla cardstock and I used vintage trinkets on it along with some black satin ribbon.
I also made her some paper fortune cookies with wishes & virtues on them.I used the love letter dsp and the fabulous phrases stampset. I've seen paper fortune cookies around the internet and just had to sit and play for a while last weekend to figure it out. For the base you cut a large circle out of patterned paper...then you softly fold it in half one way (don't crease) and then do the same the other way (again don't crease). Then you go back to the first fold and attach the centre of the edges together with a mini glue dot. The you fold it back on itself the opposite direction and plump the paper open and attach with one more mini glue dot. These were definitely fun to make.

One last project toshare - and this one has been a labour of love. Amanda's party with friends is today and they will be eating Asian food tonight - so in lieu of a birthday cake I've been making candy sushi since Amanda adores sushi. These plates are my progress last night. Once I have it all complete today I'll be stacking on a pedestal plate with candles on top...then the remaining sushi will surround it on the table on sushi plates (she received several sets as gifts:)

I've gotta run...have a bunch of teenagers to chauffeur around and prepare for;)

Another Paper Flower...

...this time on a tin! Again the tutorial for this flower from Kim can be found here!

This time I used some more of my favourite things like...
- my Bliss stampset which I earned for free during sale-a-bration! Have you gotten yours yet? If not, contact me to place an order or book a workshop before the end of March while sale-a-bration is on!
- my smooch spritz...I love the way vanilla smooch adds that bit of sparkle & irridescence!
- botanical gazette dsp - this paper is found in the occasions mini which runs until April - and it's even better in person! If you don't have a mini yet, contact me and I'll get one to you!
- cherry cobbler seam binding - I lvoe this new ribbon...and I love the way you can gather the ends for a neat vintage effect!
- vanilla rosettes - I LOVE this...so pretty!
- rhinestone jewels (and pearls too) - these sparkle so amazingly!
