Back to BE-ing

This is a recurrent theme if you know me...that we are human BE-ings not human DO-ings...and the resulting thoughts of where our value comes from... Today I ran across a most excellent quote from Thomas Merton that spoke to this well:

"We are so obsessed with doing that we have no time and no imagination left for being. As a result, men are valued not for what they are but for what they do or what they have-for their usefulness."
